That Darn Sandwich!

So in the world of first dates, sandwiches and a movie are definitely pretty low key. I mean, making dinner for someone can be a big deal, a lot of things can go wrong, just ask this guy. Al right, maybe that could be a bit drastic, but mess-ups can be possible.

This needs to be planned carefully. This isn’t like trying to make you some huge meal. If I mess that up, I can always use the excuse that I’m just a guy, and you have to forgive me, because us guys are simple. Apparently though, there are many ways to make a sandwich. Wow, Yahoo alone has 531 ways! I didn’t know you could find so many ways to stick something between two pieces of bread. This already has the earmarks of trouble. Oh boy, I’m going to screw this up infinitely. By the time I leave your place, there will be different types of food everywhere, except the floor, because Max will eat that, don’t worry. This looks like Max pre-shave.

Hopefully though, I can find a way to make you a perfect sandwich. I know it might be impossible, but you never know, fate could be on my side. I mean, it can’t be too hard to make the perfect sandwich, there is help everywhere on how to do so. But wait a minute! Why should I make the sandwich, it would be perfectly legitimate for me to take the easy way out, and hire a sandwich guru, or perhaps an advanced scientist who understands the bio-mechanics of a sandwich making machine. Maybe he can help me, thus impressing you, and making me look like a culinary genius in the process. Oh blah, what’s the use, I just can’t go around having bread artists do my bidding for me. If I want to be romantic, caring, and sensitive to your carnal desire to eat food, I’m going to have to make those sandwiches myself. Sometimes it makes you want to give kind’ve a sour and gritty look.

I cannot lie though. Deep down, I want to make a sandwich for you Lexi. The desire to fill your tummy with good and healthy food I can longer deny. It is important that I do this, I know. So tomorrow I’ll make you a nice turkey sandwich with avocado, turkey bacon, and alfalfa sprouts. I don’t know if there will be bread, but in the midst of all the craziness, I think I can find a way to slap a couple of pieces to the outsides of your magical meat mix.

Maybe then, just then, I can come up with the magical perfect concoction, of making you the perfect sandwich. Ooh, as for movie, we’ll just watch Superbad, you can’t go wrong with that one.

Valentine’s Week…

I was going to write a great blog tonight, but I decided against that. I know, I know, I’m a heartless jerk, but I was thinking about what to write, and though I typed and typed and typed, I never came up with something that seemed right. At first I wondered what the problem might be. I mean, I’ve been writing emails and text messages to you for almost two weeks now, and I’ve never had a problem saying anything. I think I found out what it might be though. I think I am awaiting that first experience I have hanging out with you. No expectations, just hanging out, talking, enjoying one another’s company. I feel like I know you so much already, but I can only imagine I’ll feel differently once we meet.

So I could write how I feel about you…but at this point, I’d rather wait, and see how we feel about each other. I know I’m a nerd, and I could be coming up with something funny to say, but it’s so much more fun to be funny in person, and make you laugh when you’re around. I was really busy today though, hence I didn’t get to write you a funny story, so alas, I am going to save that for tomorrow’s e-mail.

It’s funny to see we’ve become a bit more responsible, and are now cutting back on texts, e-mails, and sending each other underwear in the mail. I’ve only gotten 2 from you this week! That’s a huge drop from last week’s 27 pairs. I’m managing just fine though. You know it’s funny, with everything we’ve talked about, and all I’ve asked you, I have never asked if you had a tattoo. Do you?

This is Different…

So Alexia and I are being much more responsible now. We’re cutting back on communication so we can both get some work done, and Alexia actually got a full night sleep last night, which is great, even though it is much more fun just to chat with her. I think a few emails during the day and some night time chatting should be enough to sustain me until I can actually meet her in person. I know I’m acting like a 7th grader sometimes, but it’s pretty rare to meet someone you match up with so well and tell all your friends about.

I’m thinking that once we meet, it might go a long way to making me feel better about the situation. Talking in person can be done at a much quicker rate, and it’s nice just to be in the company of someone you adore. Of course once I get my busy as hell job, I’m sure the time I have now to think about her can maybe be mixed up with time I have to think about work. I think that should make things much easier on me, because right now all I think about is Alexia!! Take a shower…ooh yeah, Alexia! Eat some food, ooh wait…Alexia. Murder dog next door and bury him…ooh wait a minute, I like Alexia. If I talked about you as much as I think about you, I think everyone in my life would get sick of you, so I keep you pretty much to myself…don’t need people not liking you.

I think if I had to pick one thing that made me happy for the future, it would be that my life has taken me all over the place, and I have learned a lot about myself through it. Knowing that I am getting my stuff together and becoming a better person means that having someone like you in my life will be just another added bonus that will make me want to be an even better person.

That alone makes me smile.

My Very First Alexia Post

Hey Cutie,
Alright, I am going to try this blogging thing. Granted I’ve been blogging for years in some aspect or another, I’ve never actually dedicated an entire blog to one person. I think it could work, especially since I can start putting up pictures of us together, or just share stories with you about times I think are special. It’s a grand way of thinking, but I think it can be done. Maybe I can also write a joke or two, and you can laugh, or not laugh, your choice.

So my first post will be pretty simple. I thought it would be nice to write about all the things that make me pine over you. Or as you say, make me smitten.

1.) I think it’s great how you love sports. The fact you’d go to Hooters with me on Valentine’s Day should be enough to make any guy fall for you.
2.) You’re always being honest. You state something about your feelings…then follow it up with “but I like that” or “I’m lovin’ it!” The fact you feel the same about me makes me smile.
3.) You’re smart, intelligent, funny, nice, sweet, caring, and confident all rolled into one. It’s rare to meet someone with so many goals and aspirations, while also being so much fun. I smile at least once a day to remind myself how lucky I am to have met you.
4.) With all that you’re busy with, you still always find time for me. Even though it’s hard.
5.) I can already tell that you’re a helpful person, and that you’d go out of your way to help me with anything if I needed it.
6.) You’re the perfect combination of sexy and amazing. There aren’t too many girls out there as sensuous, while at the same time being so career-oriented. I love that you have goals in every area of your life, it makes me swoon.
7.) Don’t get me started on that hot body! Those amazing eyes…yum! That cute voice..ooh yeah! I could go on, but I’d be here forever.
8.) We could text a book to one another and still not get tired of texting another.
9.) I’ve never felt this way inside and out…I’m excited to find out what that means.
10.) You…me…drinking beer…shooting the shit…perfection.

Okay, so the list is small right now, but I’ve only known you a week. To think how long that list will be next week, or next month, who knows…I might need to up my texting plan probably.

You’ve made me smile more in the last week than I have in the last year. I’m excited to meet and go out with you. I’m excited to start sharing those fun experiences and going to all those places we talk about. Some of those places themselves sound really great, but I can’t even tell you how pronounced that excitement will be because I’m sharing that time with you. Thanks for emailing me, I’m wondering what I did right to get the chance to meet someone like you.
